About the school:
The school provides a place where students and young researchers can learn from invited leading scientists, discuss their own research plans and link to each other. Traditionally, the school takes place in the relaxing environment of a small recreation resort Devět Skal hidden in the forests at the Czech-Moravian highlands, half way between Prague and Brno. The resort offers environment ideal both for discussing science as well as relaxing afterwards.
The school is organized as the 16th IUVSTA International Summer School which endorsed it through the Nanometer Structures Division.
Part of the school dedicated to the solar energy utilization will focus on the recent developments of the high efficiency solar cells within the project NextBase funded from EU's Horizon 2020 Programme for research, technological development and demonstration under Grant Agreement no. 727523.
It is twinned with the Photovoltaic Systems Summer School 2017 organized by TU Delft.
The school is also cofunded by the Czech Academy of Sciences through the Strategy AV21 initiative.
